About Us

The Department of Treasury and Finance is at the centre of Government decision-making. As the principal economic and financial advisor, we provide leadership and strategic advice and influence to support the delivery of services and outcomes for the benefit of Western Australia.

What we do is integral to the Government’s decision-making processes about where and how to spend taxpayer's money to ensure Western Australians have access to quality services on a financially sustainable basis. We lead procurement and leverage our buying power to secure products and services for government, achieving value for money for WA. We collect revenue to fund government services and administer payment of grants and subsidies to the WA community.

Executive Support/Ministerial and Administration

Roles are primarily responsible for administrative and secretarial support to the executive and senior staff in Treasury and Finance.

• Discreetly dealing with confidential and sensitive information


• Planning and coordinating multiple priorities and meeting required deadlines


• Experience in the use of Word, Outlook, Excel and the capacity to use and learn other applications and systems

Human Resources

We work in partnership with Treasury and Finance business areas to drive solutions and initiatives.

• Building the capacity, performance and sustainability of Treasury and Finance through effective corporate services that covers Workforce Management, Talent Programs and Organisational Development

Accounting/Financial Management and Procurement

The team has qualified finance professionals with substantial knowledge of financial management practices and standards.

• Experience in a corporate finance, accounting and procurement environment

Strategic Information and Communications Technology

The team contributes to the achievement of Treasury and Finance’s strategic and operational goals.

• Developing and managing the Strategic ICT team and plan


• Providing customer-focused solutions and leading the oversight of ICT service delivery according to Service Level Agreements (SLAs)

Communications

The Communications team ensures staff and stakeholders are informed and engaged with Treasury and Finance.

• Developing and implementing strategic communications plans and advice


• Producing publication-ready versions of key reports and coordinating Treasury and Finance's internal and external communications channels

Governance/Risk and Audit Management

The roles contribute to aligning the department’s business objectives with regulatory requirements, risk management and internal controls.

• Ensuring business leaders, security teams and compliance officers work together to navigate regulatory complexity, mitigate risks and establish clear accountability across teams
