Government Jobs

We aggregate jobs from official government portals including APSjobs (Federal), individual State and Territory government career sites, and local council job boards. All listings come directly from verified government sources.

Our system checks for new listings multiple times per day. Most new government jobs appear on AussiGigs within hours of being posted on official sites. We also remove expired listings promptly.

We link you directly to the official application page for each job. This ensures your application goes through the proper government recruitment process. We never handle applications on behalf of government agencies.

Federal jobs are with Australian Government departments and agencies (e.g., ATO, Centrelink). State jobs are with State/Territory governments (e.g., NSW Health, Victoria Police). Council jobs are with local governments (e.g., City of Sydney, Brisbane City Council). Each level has different application processes and conditions.

Requirements vary by position. Most Federal APS roles require Australian citizenship. Some State and Council positions may accept permanent residents. Always check the eligibility requirements in each job listing.

A security clearance is a background check required for roles involving sensitive information. Levels include Baseline, Negative Vetting 1 (NV1), Negative Vetting 2 (NV2), and Positive Vetting (PV). The job listing will specify if a clearance is required and at what level.

Government Tenders

A government tender is a formal invitation for businesses to submit a proposal to provide goods or services to a government agency. It's a competitive process where the government selects the best value offer.

Yes, you typically need an Australian Business Number (ABN) to submit tender proposals. Some tenders also require registration on AusTender (Federal) or state-specific procurement portals.

We aggregate tenders from AusTender (Federal), state and territory eProcurement platforms (e.g., NSW eTendering, VicSourcing), and local council procurement portals.

We list all types including: Open Tenders (anyone can bid), Select Tenders (invited suppliers), Multi-Use Lists, Standing Offers, and Panel arrangements across all industries and value ranges.

Each tender listing links to the official tender portal where you submit your response. Government tenders have strict requirements and deadlines - make sure to read all documentation carefully before submitting.

Timelines vary, but typically: Tender release → Questions period (1-2 weeks) → Submissions close → Evaluation (2-8 weeks) → Contract award. Deadlines are strict - late submissions are usually rejected.
